The 2025 model year shakes up the Ram 1500's powertrain lineup with a new engine option in two available variants. The base engine is still the trusty 3.6L V6 that's been under the truck's hood since 2011, offering 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. But here's the big news: Ram is phasing out the old V8 engines in favor of the new Hurricane engine, a 3.0L inline-six with twin turbochargers. This switch to the forced-induction straight-six means you get V8-level power with better fuel economy and fewer emissions. The standard output Hurricane engine cranks out 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque, a big boost over the previous 5.7L HEMI V8's 395 hp and 410 lb-ft. And if that's not enough, the high-output version delivers an impressive 540 hp and 521 lb-ft. The standard output version is available on the Tradesman and Big Horn trims, but standard on the Laramie and Rebel. For those wanting peak performance, the high-output variant is optional on select trims and comes standard on the top-tier Limited and Tungsten models.

One thing that Ram 1500 enthusiasts love about the truck is the space and versatility that it offers. In its most basic form, the Ram 1500 has a quad cab featuring full-size front doors, half-size rear doors, and a six-foot-four-inch bed. This setup comes standard with the Tradesman, Big Horn, and Laramie trims. Meanwhile, a crew cab featuring four full-size doors and a five-foot-seven-inch bed comes standard with the Rebel, Limited, and Tungsten, while a six-foot-four-inch bed is optional. This layout is optional for the Tradesman, Big Horn, and Laramie trims. With the standard long bed, the cargo bed offers 61.5 cubic feet of space, while the short bed offers 53.9 cubic feet. Stepping inside the quad cab, you'll find 40.9 inches of legroom in the front and 35.6 inches in the rear. For headroom, you'll enjoy a spacious 40.9 inches and 39.2 inches of headroom in the front and rear, respectively. Meanwhile, crew cab models offer the same headroom and front legroom, while rear seat occupants enjoy a roomy 45.2 inches of legroom, which leads the class. 

The 2025 Ram 1500 is jam-packed with a wide range of class-leading features and ones that can only be found within the Ram 1500 lineup. Going beyond the best-in-class rear legroom, the Ram 1500 also offers the most available digital display screen space, with more than 45 inches available! While these screens are available throughout the lineup, they all come standard with the top-of-the-line Tungsten trim. They include a 12-inch fully digital gauge cluster, a largest-in-class 14.5-inch center infotainment touchscreen, a 9.2-inch digital rearview mirror, a 10.25-inch interactive front passenger touchscreen. This front passenger touchscreen is the only one of its kind in the full-size truck segment, offering front passengers access to entertainment, navigation, and vehicle cameras. The Ram 1500 also features the most available towing technologies in its class, with features like trailer reverse steering control, a 360-degree surround-view camera system, and many more other advanced options. Other class-exclusive features include a 23-speaker Klipsch Reference premier audio system in the Tungsten trim, dual wireless charging pads, and a metal pedal kit.
